Wrist Type Electric Alarm — Why It Stays With the Worker

The PPE That Stays On

Pen-style voltage detectors get put down, dropped, lost. A wrist type electric alarm stays on the worker for the entire shift, alarming the moment they step into a hazardous electric field. EK service teams treat it as primary PPE, not an instrument.

1. Wearability Matters

  • Strap weight under 80 g — invisible after the first hour.
  • Silicone band tolerates sweat, oil, diesel.
  • Adjustable from 16 to 22 cm wrist circumference.

2. Both Hands Free

Linemen need both hands for ropes and tools. A wrist alarm leaves the dominant hand for work and the non-dominant arm for the alarm — no compromise. The A186 is left/right-hand reversible at the strap.

3. Detection Range

The A186 covers 40 V to 500 kV in five sensitivity steps. The wearer selects the step matching the assigned task before climbing.

4. Alarm Modes

  1. Audible 85 dB at 30 cm.
  2. Vibration motor (felt through PPE).
  3. Red LED flash visible in daylight.
  4. All three trigger simultaneously.

5. Daily Self-Test

6. Battery

Single CR2032 lithium cell, 2-year life with daily test. Replacement is tool-free via slide cover.
