A small shop, cafe, or office has the same fundamental duty to keep electrical equipment safe as a large factory. Portable appliance testing for small business does not have to be complicated or expensive — it is a structured set of checks that proves your equipment is safe and gives you records if anything is ever questioned.

1. What Counts as a Portable Appliance

  • Anything with a plug: kettles, computers, chargers, power tools, extension leads.
