EV Charging Station Maintenance Tools — Field Test Coverage
2026年05月12日
EV chargers fail at the AC input, DC output, and grounding. Four tools cover 95 % of failure modes.
Where EV Chargers Actually Fail
Field data from SEA EV charger fleets shows three failure clusters: AC input voltage imbalance, DC output current degradation, and ground-bond loosening. Coherent EV charging station maintenance tools address all three.
Test 1: AC Input Voltage and Current Balance
- Three-phase voltage imbalance > 2 % triggers internal protection — many false trips trace here.
- Tool: EK-G645 clamp meter for current balance, EK-F598 DMM for voltage balance.
Test 2: DC Output Current Capability
Verify the charger can deliver rated DC current under load. Use EK-G645 in DC mode on the output cable during a test session. Reading must match rated value within 5 %.
Test 3: Insulation Resistance
- AC side: 1 kV insulation from L1/L2/L3 to PE — must be > 100 MΩ.
- DC side: 1 kV insulation from DC+/DC- to PE — must be > 50 MΩ.
- Tool: EK-F598 insulation function.
Test 4: Equipotential Bonding
Ground bond from charger enclosure to system earth must be < 0.5 Ω. Lightning strike survival depends on this. Tool: EK-C300 low-Ω mode.
Test 5: Communication Cable Continuity
CCS / CHAdeMO communication pins must show continuity end-to-end. Tool: EK-F598 continuity buzzer.
The EV Maintenance Kit
- EK-G645 (AC + DC clamp).
- EK-F598 (DMM + insulation).
- EK-C300 (earth + bond).
- A186 (PPE for HV DC bus work).
Documentation
Each maintenance visit produces a one-page report: AC balance %, DC output A, insulation MΩ (AC + DC), bond Ω. EK ships a printable template with the kit. Talk to EK service teams.
