Choosing a China Electrical Tester Supplier — Quality Audit Framework

2026年05月12日

Not all China-made instruments are equal. Six audit dimensions separate real OEMs from re-labellers.

The Re-Labeller Problem

The China electrical tester market includes real OEM manufacturers and re-labellers buying generic boards from Shenzhen and printing their logo. As a buyer of a China electrical tester supplier, you need to tell the difference. EK Engineering uses a six-dimension audit framework — and welcomes the same audit applied to itself.

Audit 1: Own Factory vs Trading Office

  • Real OEM: own factory address visible on commercial registration.
  • Re-labeller: "factory" address is a coworking space.
  • EK: own factory in Shenzhen, registered address verifiable on China Customs.

Audit 2: Own R&D Team

Visit the engineering office. Real OEM has 20+ engineers and a lab full of test gear. Re-labeller has 2 marketing people. EK Engineering: 25+ FTE in instrument R&D.

Audit 3: Calibration Lab

  1. Real OEM has accredited calibration lab on-site.
  2. Re-labeller "calibrates" by sticking a pre-printed cert.
  3. EK: NIM-traceable cal lab on-site, audited annually.

Audit 4: Production Line Walk

  • Ask to walk the SMT and final-test lines.
  • Real OEM agrees with NDA.
  • Re-labeller refuses or shows a fake setup.
  • EK: distributor walk-throughs scheduled monthly.

Audit 5: Lot Traceability

Pick a serial number from a shipped unit. Real OEM can trace to PCB lot, calibration date, QC sign-off in 5 minutes. Re-labeller cannot. EK: full traceability via internal MES.

Audit 6: After-Sales Network

  • Real OEM has regional service centres in customer markets.
  • Re-labeller has only WeChat support from Shenzhen office.
  • EK: regional service in Jakarta, Dubai, with global distributor partners.
