EK-G668A AC Leakage Current Clamp Meter

The EK-G668A is a true-RMS AC leakage current clamp meter with an 80 × 80 mm jaw. It combines AC current measurement, a switchable filter, harmonic analysis and Bluetooth communication for electrical maintenance work where access around the conductor and the required measurement range matter.

Key selection points

• Jaw opening: 80 × 80 mm. Check the actual conductor arrangement and working clearance before selection.
• Published AC range: 0.00 mA to 2000 A across the instrument's measurement ranges. The sheet lists 0.01 mA resolution; this is not a claim of 0.01 mA accuracy or constant resolution throughout the full range.
• Filter: specified 40–70 Hz with the filter enabled; 40 Hz–1 kHz with the filter disabled. Record the filter setting when comparing readings.
• Harmonic analysis: through the 21st harmonic for currents above 10 mA, as stated in the supplied sheet. Distortion measurement is also specified above 10 mA.
• Records and display: maximum, minimum, average and hold functions; Bluetooth communication and storage of 2000 groups via the app. The storage specification should not be interpreted as 2000 standalone internal records.

AC/DC clarification: the shared datasheet introduction mentions AC/DC, but its G668A range table provides only AC measurement specifications. This page therefore presents the specified AC capability. If your application requires DC leakage measurement, obtain written confirmation of the applicable model, DC ranges and accuracy before ordering.

G668A selection questions

Is 0.01 mA the measurement accuracy?

No. Resolution describes the displayed increment; accuracy describes allowable measurement error under specified conditions. The supplied table lists an accuracy expression of ±1.5% of reading ±5 digits, but does not provide a complete range-by-range schedule. Confirm those conditions rather than applying the headline expression to every measurement.

Can G668A measure earth resistance?

No earth resistance function is specified in the supplied G668A sheet. Leakage current and earth resistance are different measurements. If the task is a ground resistance test, review an appropriate earth tester and confirm that the proposed method is valid for the grounding network.

Does the voltage entry establish a CAT rating?

No. The sheet's “below 600 V” line-voltage entry is not a documented CAT category, and its dielectric test value is not a working-voltage rating. Ask for the safety documentation applicable to the installation. Instrument use and access to energized conductors require qualified personnel and approved safety controls.

What is needed for an application review or quotation?

Send the required AC or DC measurement, expected current range, conductor dimensions, frequency or waveform conditions, installation category and reporting needs. State whether you need calibration documentation and confirm app compatibility with your intended mobile device.
